Dapper Dragon (33)
Dapper Dragon soaps ships via United States Postal Service. One- and two-item orders are generally sent in a padded mailer to cut down on costs while protecting the merchandise. At three or more items, I switch to Priority Mail flat-rate boxes.
It is an unfortunate truth that shipping anything over the ocean is extremely expensive, and shipping to Canada or Mexico is only a little bit better. However, I will do my best to keep costs down as much as possible.
International Group Buys
If a group of users in a foreign country are interested in organizing a group buy, I'm open to the idea as well. I think it's the best option for an international order larger than a handful of items, for both you and me. I'll ship to you in the most cost-effective way, and charge you my shipping costs, including packing materials and time.
There are just a few requirements before I'd consider it:
- 10+ piece order
- No reselling. This is a group buy, not a wholesale agreement.
- I will want to see the names and orders of each member of the group buy.
- One member of the group will be designated to make the payment and accept shipment.
- You may need to wait for new batches of soap to be made, depending on the number and varieties of soaps requested. Before we agree, I'll provide an estimate for the amount of time required to fill your order.
If you have a group that would like to purchase Dapper Dragon, send me a message through the contact page.
The full size pucks sold out today - but there are still plenty of the smaller ones. The 3.25oz pucks actually cost slightly less per oz, as an apology for messing them up. I'll focus on restocking other lower scents, first.
According to USPS, the first few packages are either delivered, or out for delivery. I'm very excited, but also nervous. I can't wait to hear what (if anything) people have to say about my soap.
Wow. It was a great weekend for Dapper Dragon Soaps.
Thanks a lot to everyone that stopped by the store, asked a question or placed an order. I'd been worried that we might only get one or two orders, but we actually saw a pretty nice amount of traffic. Enough for me to feel good about the way things are starting, but not enough to put us in danger of selling out right away.
I also finished up the labels that will go on the soaps. The Basics scents will use the same design as the Dapper Dragon label, which is more or less the default. I may make some unique labels for Basics scents that are clearly popular, as Blood Orange seems like it's going to be.
I will be packing up the orders from this weekend tonight and tomorrow, and they'll go out in the mail tomorrow and Tuesday.
This has been a very exciting weekend! I feel like this whole thing just might work.
The past few days have been a pretty rotten mix of after hours work and illness on my part. That means that I haven't been able to make any new soap as planned on Thursday and Friday. Never fear, though, we'll still be launching on 3/15! And I intend to make multiple batches this weekend, so even the soaps with fewer bars ready should be available.

New products coming in October!

Welcome to Fall!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The air gets crisp and the smell of turning leaves fills the air. So to celebrate my favorite season's return, I'm going to bring back two scents that have also been favorites.
Returning Shaving Scents - Available 10/1
Autumn Morning is perhaps my favorite scent I've ever made. The coffee, dry leaves and lilies just smell like fall to me. It seems that the same is true for many of you - our poll on the subject was overwhelmingly in favor of the return of Autumn Morning.
People really liked Ouroboros! I was surprised, but gratified. And I have listened. I've been getting ready to release the scent again, this time with a full line. Bath soap, shaving soap, and Scale Polish are all planned, and lotion is a possibility, if people are interested.
Ouroboros combines sandalwood, sweet orange, and Egyptian musk for a warm scent.
New Bath Soaps
We've expanded our bath soap line, to include some scents that were honestly long overdue.
- Bubbly Wubbly Soapy Woapy Stuff in light blue, with an apple/rose scent.
Tiamat and Signature bath soaps are also being restocked.
Announcing Scale Polish Samples
We'll now be offering samples of our popular Scale Polish line of aftershave gels. Quarter-ounce samples will be $2.50.

We'll be adding some new scents and products to the line-up, starting 7/1!

It's nice to be out of the winter cold and start seeing the sun come out. Here in Minnesota we still see a bit of snow in March, but the lake is thawed and the yard is clear. It feels nice to go out without a jacket sometimes.
New Scents for Fall 2015
- Written on Tuesday, 13 October 2015 13:08
For our Fall scent this year, we went back to last year and brought back a favorite.
When September of 2015 rolled around, we hadn't been in business for long, and not many people knew about us. Because of that, our fall scent, Autumn Morning, wasn't very widely appreciated. It's still one of our favorites, so we decided to bring it back for an encore.
Autumn Morning combines the rich smell of coffee with Brazil nuts, spicy dry leaves, late blooming lily, green notes and sweet citrus for a scent to keep you warm as the frost starts to form.
Pumpkin Spice and Autumn Morning shave soaps are also available at Maggard Razors.
2015 Summer Line-Up!
- Written on Tuesday, 09 June 2015 08:44
This summer, some changes are coming to the Dapper Dragon Soaps line up. As usual, we're aiming for the Summer Solstice, June 21st, for the changes.
Summer Limited Edition
It's almost time for the summer limited edition scent. This year's scent is called Festival. It combines summer blooming flowers, summer fruit, and an intriguing base of smoke and gunpowder to evoke the feeling of summer festivals around the world. Here in the US, when you think of fireworks, you can't help but think of Independence Day. Fireworks also feature in music festivals, sporting events and more, from LA to Kyoto. Festival will be available as shaving soap, bath soap, and Scale Polish aftershave gel. Keep your eyes open for more information!
New Scents For the Line
We're adding new scents to the regular line up, and in keeping with the season they include some light, refreshing varieties. Each scent will be a shaving soap and bath soap. Each scent with the exception of White Chocolate Orange will also be available as Scale Polish.
- Coconut, Lime & Verbena - Coconut and lime are the stars of this scent, and create a mixture reminiscent of beaches and tropical drinks. Verbena adds a woody, citrusy undertone and ties the scent together.
- Cucumber Melon - This popular combination can be found all over the personal care world. A light, refreshing fragrance, and a pleasant way to start your day.
- White Chocolate Orange - This was originally a custom order for Windsor Citrus from the Path to Smoothness blog. But it gets so much interest every time it's mentioned that I had to try it out as a regular offering. White chocolate fragrance oil blends with sweet orange essential oil for a sweet olfactory treat. But don't eat it, even if you bang it on the table first.
- Scylla (maybe) - Scylla will be a maritime scent with east Mediterranean influences. This one's not quite ready, yet, so I don't want to promise it for the 21st, but that's the target.
Saying Goodbye to Old Friends
There are a few scents in our current line up that aren't selling anymore, or which haven't taken off, yet. Cinnamon Bun and Pomegranate will not be remade after the current stock is exhausted. Green Tea and Bergamot is still fairly new, but it may not be part of the line-up long term.
You can find Dapper Dragon products in a few places.
We're also pleased to offer our products through these fine retailers.
I still have some work to do in order to meet my absolute goal before beginning sales, BUT I am making progress. I have at least one batch of each type of soap but one. That one will be in the molds on Thursday or Friday, and I intend to spend as much of the weekend soaping as I can get away with.
Tonight was unscented's turn. I used some to make a small shave stick (.75oz) to test with, as well.
Here's the stash so far:
All soaps sold by Dapper Dragon Soaps are hand made. We start with high quality oils and other materials to ensure a luxurious end product. In addition to the soap itself, our products may contain emollients and humectants to pamper the skin, as well as essential and fragrance oils for a pleasing scent.
These soaps are used with a traditional shaving brush to create a thick, protective lather for a superior shave. Whatever your gender, once you've experienced the pleasure of shaving with an old fashioned shaving soap or cream, you'll never want to go back to aerosol cans again.
Dapper Dragon bath soaps are effective enough for whole-body cleaning, but mild enough for use as a facial soap. Our soaps use a blend of olive oil, coconut oil and lard to create a soft, nourishing lather that feels great on your skin. Added glycerin increases the humectant properties.
